CORIAN
Corian is available to common folks only in 12 mm (~1/2") sheets. In order to make anything thicker one has to stack layers together. Corian can be cut with any woodworking tools but because it is much harder than wood, tungston carbide cutters are recommended. Corian is nonporous and does not move with changing ambient humidity like wood. Consequently, the common problem of "glue creeping" in segmented wood turnings does not occur in Corian turnings.
